Frequently Asked Questions: CCTV Classes
Who can take the workshops?
Anyone who lives in the Comcast Service area -- within the City of Salem and unincorporated Marion County -- is considered an eligible resident. If you are unsure about whether you qualify, talk to CCTV's staff. We're very sorry, but Keizer residents are not eligible.
Which workshop should I take first?
It does not matter technically which workshop you take first. What matters is which workshop will help you with your project. If your project is to record events on location, start with Intro to Camera. If your project is a discussion program, then the Studio with its controlled environment is what you'll need. It's recommended that all producers take Intro to Editing.
What if I can't afford the fees?
CCTV does not want to turn people away. We have a Volunteer Exchange Program that enables everyone to take classes. Ask CCTV staff how it works, and get signed up....after the Orientation, of course.

MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT CLASSES? Our staff is happy to help. Call us at 503-588-2288. CCTV's training coordinator, Greg Hiltz, is available to answer training-related questions. You can also email him at greg@cctvsalem.org.
Be sure to attend an Orientation! That's the first step for anybody looking to take classes. They are usually held the first Tuesday of the month at 6pm in CCTV's facility.
