Jesus Gonzales, producer of Variedades 2000, filled CCTV studio and facility to the brim with brilliantly-clad, bright-smiling Latino dancers, teachers and performers on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Variedades 2000 has been an entertainment staple here at CCTV for the last eight years featuring bimonthly programs of local Latino bands, dancers and other entertainers, most often taped in CCTV’s studio. Over the years Variedades 2000 shows have been known to “rock the house” where even passers-by of CCTV’s front door are treated to a concert of melodious mariachi music.

In a previous article written about the show, Jesus states the two-fold purpose of Variedades 2000: “1) To showcase the abundance of talent in the Latino community, and 2) to have a positive environment where young people in the community could learn and grow.” In addition, Jesus often enlisted his own family and kids to help run cameras and produce the show.

April 19th was no different. With Jesus, his family and friends behind the cameras and in the control room, Variedades 2000 hosted the Ballet Folklorico Tlanese dancers. Dancers of all ages in a stunning array of costumes displayed their rich heritage and culture and provided entertainment at its best. Jesus said that this was “One of the best joy-filled shows; everybody was happy doing the show. It was great to have dancers and teachers from Salem—local people.”

En un articulo escrito anteriormente de este programa, Jesus explica el doble propósito de Variedades 2000: 1) “Para demostrar el abundancia de talento en la comunidad Latino, y
2) Tener un lugar positivo donde jóvenes en la comunidad pueden aprender y crecer.” En adición, Jesus a recibido ayuda de su propia familia e hijos para manejar las cameras y el equipo para producir el programa. 

El 19 de Abril no fue diferente. Con Jesus, su familia y amigos detrás de las cámaras y en el cuarto de control, Variedades 2000 presento el Baile Folklórico Tlanese bailadores. Bailadores de todas edades, en un elegante colocación de trajes que demostraba su herencia y cultura y probaron entretenimiento a su mejor. Jesus dijo que “esto había sido un de los programas mejores, llenos de alegría, todos eran muy felices haciendo este programa. Era muy magnifico tener a los bailadores, maestros de Salem – gente local.”
