Imagine beautiful artwork all over Salem just for the joy of it. That's part of the vision outlined by the new Oregon Artist Series Foundation, which announced its formation July 12 at the second annual Mayor's Oregon Artist Series at the Salem Conference Center. Foundation President Anna Peterson, Mayor Janet Taylor and gallery owner Mary Lou Zeek were among guest speakers who envision a thriving art presence in downtown Salem for all to enjoy.

CCTV covered this event which showcases the work of dozens of artists from around the state, one of whose work was chosen for purchase by the Conference Center. This year's show was juried, a panel selecting which works would be represented in the show. A grand prize winner and five honorees were announced. All the works will be on display to delight locals and visitors for the next year (see schedule below for air times).
